Skiing in the Gastein Valley...
For some of the best Skiing in Austria - consider this...
The Ski bus stops 50m from the apartment, within 5 mins you arrive at the Gondola which takes you up to the most extensive ski areas of Stubnerkogel. From the top there are Ski Runs in all directions and the area is linked to the ski area above Bad Hofgastein.
On the other side of Bad Gastein is the chair lift up to the Graukogel ski area which is usually not crowded and the wooded runs are a real asset in bad weather.
In the other direction from Brockstein, on the ski bus, you reach the wide open slopes of Sportsgastein. At 1600m and nearly 2700m at the top height, this is the highest ski area and really comes into its own if there are poor snow conditions on the lower slopes.
