This stunning apartment has 3 bedrooms and can easily sleep 6 to 9 people. it extends to 98 square meters and has a balcony with great views over the mountains.
Where are we?
Located in Bockstein, about 90km from Saltzburg, this apartment affords easy access to some to the best Skiing in Austria and is located within breathtaking scenery near the head of the Gastein Valley.
Lots to Do... not just Skiing!
Whether you are interested in being active with Skiing, Walking Golf or Mountain Biking, or perhaps just taking it easy, some time to mend or want to explore the culture, then our apartment in Brockstein will provide a perfect base for you.
Some of the special attractions close by inlcude the Golf Club Gastein, founded in 1960 it is the oldest and most traditional in Austria. With fairways and greens blending into the base of the Gastein Mountains, this 18 hole course provides a challenge for all ages and abilities.
1 km outside Bockstein you reach the road to "Heilstollen" - the healing galleries.
Hidden amoung the trees is a full-scale medical facility comprising of a series of radon rich tunnels accessed by a train. The shafts were first dug in the 1940´s in search of gold and silver ore. The workers reported that the atmosphere underground had a beneficial effect on their aches and pains and it is now possible to take "taster" sessions which include a medical check up followed by an hour in the first stage of the healing tunnels.
Bockstein was once a mining village, with Altbockstein founded by Sigismund von Schrattenbach as a model village for the workers. There is a small Mountain Museum housed in one of the old storehouses, and the old tenement-like living quarters, quaint chapel on the knoll and village green have all been lovingly and tastefully restored and are well worth a visit.
Sportsgastein borders on the Hole Tauren National Parkwhich covers 1786 square kilometres and incorporates Austria´s highest moutain, the Grossglocker.
Amoung the wildlife encountered within the park are the elusive Gemse (Chamois) and the ubiquuitous Mummeitier (Marmot)
Whether you are Walking or Cycling, there are miles of tracks in and around Bockstein to keep all country lovers fully engaged with nature "up close and personal!"
Just when you thought it could not get any better... close by is Felsen Therme which comprises a large complex of indoor and outdoor swimming pools heated to 34 degrees with jacuzzi jets, water falls and slides. The pools are fed from the Bad Gastein natural mineral hot springs that flow from the surrounding mountains at temperatures up to 46 degrees. On the upper level, you will also find the Sauna, Steam Baths the Salt Cave and Sun Deck
